I am excited to announce that I have been taking part in a trial of an interactive exhibition and we have just released it to the public.
Myself, Karen Pearson and Sharon Thomas (all artists of the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Art Society Inc.) have put together this exhibition featuring 45 of our artworks.
If you click on the link below you can preview our artworks. We would love to hear what you think about this type of exhibition.
Over Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June 2021, Lake Macquarie artists and makers will open their studio doors and welcome the general public inside for a behind the scenes look; giving art lovers the chance to meet artists, learn about the creative process and purchase unique artworks to take home. The event will include artists who work with a variety of mediums including glass, textile, oil and acrylic and sculpture.
My studio will be open from 10am to 4pm. Myself and Kennethe Bull will be demonstrating our painting and drawing techniques as well as showcasing our art at 89 Silky Oak Dr, Caves Beach.
We have lots of new art on display, plus photo cards, hand painted gift cards and book marks.
Coffee, tea and biscuits are available for a gold coin donation.
No EFTPOS is available unfortunately, we have very little mobile signal at our house! So cash sales only.
The NALMAS exhibition due to be held at Lake Macquarie Square is now being held online on Facebook due to Covid restrictions. Click here to see our exhibiting artists.
Below are my paintings which are in this exhibition.

Here’s something I have been enjoying recently, whilst painting in my studio – “Talking with Painters – the Podcast” where Maria Stoljar talks with Australian artists about their lives and art.
Painting can be quite a solitary pastime and a lot of us artists have music or the radio playing in the background, but now we have another very enlightening choice – the podcast. Maria has visited many of Australia’s premier artists in their studios and talks to them about their early life and what may have influenced them to take up art. Also they chat about their current works, any upcoming exhibitions they have and also any setbacks they faced and how they overcame them.
Its easy to find the podcasts (over 76 episodes have been recorded), just download the Podcast App and then search for Talking with Painters by Maria Stoljar. You can also go to the website http://www.talkingwithpainters.com
The Newcastle Art Society is currently exhibiting over 100 art works by local artists at the Lake Fair Shopping Centre, Mount Hutton from 19 August to 7th September 2019.
